How long will it last?
A properly constructed and maintained driveway can be expected to last for 20 to 30 years.
What type of asphalt should I use on my driveway?
This depends on what kinds of vehicles will use the driveway. For basic vehicle use, lighter duty asphalt is fine. For heavier vehicles, such as boats and RVs, thicker asphalt may be required.
What if I need a multi-purpose driveway?
We suggest a thicker type of asphalt. This process is called heavy-duty paving and consists of 4" of asphalt and is paved in 2 layers. The first layer of asphalt, which is called the base coat, is paved with 2" of HL8 Road Base Asphalt. Than the top layer is paved with 2" of HL3, which is a highway surface mix.

Our driveway resurfacing procedures help to ensure that your driveway ends up smooth and ready to use once we’re done with it.
- We inspect all surfaces and identify any trouble spots, including low areas and heavily cracked areas. Asphalt glue is applied to these surfaces to ensure proper bonding, and any failed areas of the sub-base are cut away.
- The sub-base is excavated and rebuilt with 12” of new ¾ crushed stone. We re-pave the areas with heavy-duty asphalt to meet existing grades.
- Where applicable, high spots are ground down using a rotto mill or saw cut.
- Once the main preparations are complete, we power clean the entire driveway to ensure the asphalt bonds to the surface properly.
- When all surfaces are clean and dry, we apply a bonding agent with a special spray wand system to ensure an even coat.
- Finally, the resurfacing procedures start. Depending on the elevations, we resurface the areas with 1 ½” to 2” of high-stability mix. This is a highway roadway surface mix, resulting in a like-new driveway.
